Lancaster families have strong access to conventional pediatric care through Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, WellSpan, and a network of pediatric specialists. The pediatricians are well-trained, the specialty depth is real, and the local hospital systems are competent. Calm Wellness adds a pediatric functional medicine practice with the credentials and clinical depth to take chronic complex pediatric conditions seriously, run real testing, build individualized plans, and stay with the case when the standard playbook runs out. We see Lancaster families at our Morgantown clinic on Fridays, about 35 minutes east on PA-23, and via telehealth throughout the week. The drive is scenic, mostly through farmland; many Lancaster families tell us the drive has become a small ritual.

Recommendations are adjusted to work with raw milk, traditional foods, and home-prepared meals when those are part of the family’s life.

How Lancaster families work with us.

Telehealth across Pennsylvania. Secure video from home. Many Lancaster families do an in-person intake and then move to telehealth for ongoing care. For families with limited internet, we work with what is feasible, including phone-only follow-ups when needed.

What to expect.

The first visit is usually 60 to 75 minutes depending on age and complexity. We take a comprehensive history, recommend specific functional medicine testing based on what we learn, and explain the next steps. You will leave with a clear plan and the testing logistics. We work alongside your existing pediatrician or primary care provider. For Plain-community families with limited or no conventional pediatric relationship, we discuss what conventional care should be in place alongside our work and help you build that connection if needed.
